| The E-Spectrum ESpectrum-Com© provides
wireless connections for 1 to 4 transducers of any type, eliminating over
½ mile per transducer of field wiring. The ESpectrum-Com©
makes data acquisition simple, even in locations where the installation
of field wiring is difficult or expensive. |
|
The
ESpectrum-Com© is a self contained, battery
powered, microprocessor based system consisting of a transmitter unit
and a receiver unit. The transmitter unit is designed for
installation directly at the transducer(s). It provides 12-bit
digitization of the process signal. Once digitized, the ESpectrum-Com©
transmitter unit sends the process signal via a license-free spread
spectrum 900 MHz RF link, over a range of up to ½ mile, to the receiver
unit. At the receiver unit, the digital signal is converted back
to a selectable analog output format for connection to any data
acquisition unit. The ESpectrum-Com© unit
will accept any combination of up to four channels of 0-5V analog
voltages or 4-20mA current loop transducer signals. From the user,s
point of view, it’s as if the transducer is wired into
the measurement location. |

|
Multiple
ESpectrum-Com© units can operate in close proximity
without interference. Unlike many wireless units, the user is not
required to assign unique RF channels during system configuration,
making setup and maintenance of the system simple and fast. The ESpectrum-Com©
units use low power spread spectrum RF communication and incorporate
transmitter/receiver handshaking and software controlled frequency
agile channel selection. This provides a robust and reliable link
between transducers and data gathering hardware. |
